The Fight for Greater Manchester’s Buses – Film Launch and Discussion

On Thursday 18th April, we will launch our first ever 20-minute transport documentary at a special event hosted by Better Buses for Greater Manchester. The film premiere will be followed by a panel discussion including; Emily Yates, co-founder of the Association of British Commuters; Luke Raikes, Senior Researcher at IPPR North; Mike Hughes, passenger and experienced accessibility campaigner; John Boughton, Unite regional officer; and Pascale Robinson from Better Buses for GM.

Keep The Guard On The Train – 08/03/2019

We joined Care2’s Beth Granter on International Women’s Day to hand in a 98,000-strong petition for women’s safety on the railways. With special guests Ann Bates OBE and Michelle Rodgers, our coalition to keep the guard on the train celebrated its greatest success yet – a letter from the Equality and Human Rights Commission stating that they intend to take action against driver-only operation.

The Future of Rail Conference – 07/03/2019

Watch Martin Abrams speak about how the railway needs to respond to the fourth industrial revolution. Drawing on examples from our passenger-led investigation into driver-only operation, he argues for a strengthened freedom of information act; and for the rail industry to rebuild itself on the values of transparency and democracy.

Protest March: Victoria Station to the Dept for Transport – 16/12/2016

At the height of the Southern Rail Crisis of 2016, 300 of us marched from Victoria Station to the Department for Transport demanding Chris Grayling’s immediate intervention into the failed GTR contract. We didn’t achieve our demand on this occasion, but we did get to leave him a very special Christmas present…
